Scripture

John feeding himself

We've been working on John's living skills since his hospital ward days in Seremban(Nov 2008). John was tube feed then, but he would dislodge the tube occasionally. Needless to say we panic, but the rehab doctors encourage us to take away the tube and feed him orally. We started with mushy baby-like food and progressed on to a slice of papaya. It took him an hour to chew and swallow the papaya but he was quite determine about it.
We had hope that he would feed himself within a year but it took him 3 years to get it. Nevertheless we're thankful he finally got it.
We stopped reducing his seizure medicine (Trileptal 300) cos we saw an occasional seizure when he's tired. He still goes for 6 sessions of 1 hour acupunture with herbal medication per week.
Thanks to all who've been praying for John. Personally prayer has helped me cope with John's recovery because often I find that it's best to prayer and leave the burden of results to God. Surely Jesus loves him more than I do!
