Oh hello. Sign in Blogspot.com Scripture I will make rivers flow on barren heights, and springs within the valleys. I will turn the desert into pools water and the parched ground into springs. I will put in the desert the ceder and the acacia, the myrthle and the olive. I will set pines in the wasteland, the fir and cypress together, so that people may see and know, may consider and understand, that the hand of the Lord has done this, that the Holy One of Israel has created it. Grabbing my connectors
There are only a few things John can 'play' on his own and this is one of them. To have such delight with occupational therapy is an exception. John is just grabbing his connectors, something he has to also teach his fingers. He can hold one at any given time but holding on to a handful can be challenging. Personally I like it when he's having fun like this; it takes the boredom and monotony out of his rehab. The reason I'm speaking in Bahasa is because I'm filling in on kakak what John is doing, she can play along and make it fun if she can understand the scenario. It's true that there's a lot for John to relearn but if one sees learning as part and parcel of growing or even living then it's not so 'sad'. After John's accident, I too needed to learn how to trust God, not just in my mind but in my will and my soul. Labels: Occupational Therapy

Sunday mornings
We are regular church goers. About 3 months after John's near drown we went back to church, going back to the church we knew when Simon and I were still single and where our children grew up in. We've had tremendous love and support from bros and sis there; both in prayer and practical help. I recall having to take him on wheel chair and tilting his back rest so that he would be comfortable with neck support.
Nowadays John walks into church, we sit through worship and prayer and the go into a sunday school classroom during the sermon. There he gets to stretch his legs and move around a bit. It's a world of difference and yet so far from how he used to be. Often when I do quiet devotions with John, I realise the Holy Spirit speaks to me as well. We have tasted His goodness and known His enabling in this journey. A Belated Christmas wish and A Blessed New Year to everyone. God Bless. Labels: Others |
