Scripture

I will make rivers flow on barren heights, and springs within the valleys. I will turn the desert into pools water and the parched ground into springs. I will put in the desert the ceder and the acacia, the myrthle and the olive. I will set pines in the wasteland, the fir and cypress together, so that people may see and know, may consider and understand, that the hand of the Lord has done this, that the Holy One of Israel has created it.

Isaiah 41:18-20

Using my left hand

Doing this task with John's right hand would be fairly easy for him but by getting him to do it with his left we are helping the right side of his brain to rewire a bit. We just don't know how this little bits and pieces will help him to be independent but we must try. It's in our innate being to improve ourselves. It would seem at times that John's my project and that can be frustrating and self defeating.
Like everything else we have to learn over and over again that we're mere stewards of what we have; God owns everything. Ours is to trust and obey.

John's favourite table work

Every week John will choose to do this whenever he's given a choice. He started with 2 or 3  pieces, now he's doing 5. He needs to scan for the shadow of the given piece and place it there. He's vision has improve through the years but it's an effort to find that shadow.
We had wished that his recovery could have been like the footballer, Fabrice Muamba; but it's not. So in this long rocky path that God has set before us, we slow down and help each other trusting in His promise that He will not leave us or forsake us (Deut31:8); indeed this is our path Home.
